ReLevel Equipment Evolution Guide: Requirements, Costs and Rebirth

Game version: 1.1.6

Weapon, Armor and Accessory can evolve. Evolved base stats are fixed, while existing Mastery, Devotion Rank and Skills are retained.

Requirements for Equipment Evolution

To evolve a Weapon, Armor item or Accessory, meet all of these conditions.

  • Clear Map 4 to unlock Equipment Evolution.
  • Reach Mastery Lv.100 on the target Equipment.
  • The target Equipment must not have evolved already. Each type can evolve once.
  • Have enough Gold to pay the cost.

Evolve during a journey, after resolving any pending results or choices.

Win battles with Equipment equipped to increase Mastery, normally one level per five wins. A Mastery Manual adds 15 wins of growth; any excess beyond maximum Mastery contributes to Devotion Rank.

What changes after evolution?

Evolved base stats are fixed. Evolution preserves Mastery, Devotion Rank and Skills.

Evolution screen values include current Mastery and Devotion Rank, but exclude percentage bonuses applied to the Hero as a whole.

Base costs for Equipment Evolution

Base costs vary by Equipment. These prices come from the in-game evolution table, before the Anvil of Evolution discount. Names follow the original game translations.

Anvil of Evolution discount and rounding

Each effective level of Anvil of Evolution reduces evolution costs by 0.8 percentage points, reaching the 80% discount cap at effective Lv.100.

Even if Ultimate Rebirth raises effective level caps for Artifacts, the evolution cost discount remains capped at 80%.

Let P be the base cost and L the effective level of Anvil of Evolution. The calculation follows this order; ceil means rounding up to an integer.

r = min(1, L / 100)
m = 1 + (-0.8) × r
G = max(1, ceil(P × m))

The final discounted cost is rounded up, with a minimum charge of 1 G. The discount amount is not rounded separately before subtraction.

For a base cost of 20,000 G, replaying the game’s operation order gives these costs.

Effective levelNominal reductionCost to pay
Lv.00%20,000 G
Lv.2419.2%16,161 G
Lv.2520%16,000 G
Lv.5040%12,000 G
Lv.7056%8,801 G
Lv.10080%4,000 G
Lv.20080%4,000 G

The game uses double-precision floating-point arithmetic, so some combinations cost 1 G more than exact decimal arithmetic suggests. At Lv.24 the result is about 16160.000000000002; at Lv.70 it is about 8800.0000000000018. Rounding up gives 16,161 G and 8,801 G respectively.

When evolving, use the cost displayed on the evolution screen.

Does it stack with other discounts?

Evolution pricing reads the Equipment base cost and the effective level of Anvil of Evolution. Forge discount and Shop discount are not applied on top.

The displayed evolution price, the check for sufficient Gold, and the actual payment all use the same evolution pricing function.

What carries over through Rebirth?

Regular Rebirth preserves Equipment Mastery, Devotion Rank, Skills and evolution state.

Carrying over growth and evolution records does not mean every Equipment item is automatically brought into the next life. The items themselves follow the Rebirth rules for retaining Equipment.

Ultimate Rebirth resets Equipment, Mastery and Devotion Rank, including growth from Mastery Manual. Evolution records and their collection bonus reset as well.

Anvil of Evolution is one of the Artifacts. Ultimate Rebirth preserves existing quantities, but the separate 80% evolution discount cap still applies.

Why evolve more Equipment types?

Each evolved Equipment type adds 10 devotion counts per victory to equipped Equipment at maximum Mastery. Evolved types count even when unequipped.

With three evolved types, eligible Equipment receives the base count of 1 plus 30, for 31 devotion counts per win before bonuses.

1 + 3 × 10 = 31

Weapon bonuses from Artifacts apply after this addition, then Training Incense applies its multiplier last.

The extra 10 per type does not apply to growth before maximum Mastery or to Mastery Manual.

Applies to Ver. 1.1.6. In-game explanations and evolution data were checked against the actual pricing code in the distributed game package. Rounding boundaries were checked by replaying its operation order, rather than through an in-game device test.
